My work comes from a drive to understand my life and organize my thoughts. Sometimes there is fear, sometimes nostalgia, and often chaos, but I always try to approach it with humor. My work is clumsily realistic, with quirky lines and layers of paint that overlap just a bit too much. I believe in the power of imperfection.
The story behind this artwork
There was no neighborhood story, so after doing my own research, I discovered that there used to be a vegetable and fruit auction in the area. Additionally, there’s one of my favorite restaurants located there. Inspired by how restaurants adapt the texture of vegetables for dishes, I came up with a visual translation: a box featuring melting fruit and bubbling vegetables.
